What does it take to get a quality paint job?

Step 1:  Remove flight control surfaces.

Step 2: Remove fiberglass components.

Step 3: Remove camloc fasteners from cowlings.

Step 4: Mask all windows.

Step 5: Apply chemical paint stripper to aluminum.

Step 6: Remove stripper residue.

Step 7: Hand strip small areas.

Step 8: Remove paint around windows by hand.

Step 9: Scuff aircrafts with scotch bright and laquer thinner ensuring a contaminant free surface.

Step 10: Clean all corrosion, fix any dents, and repair fiberglass as needed.

Step 11: Aluminum surfaces are etched and treated with alodine in order to promote paint adhesion and prevent corrosion.

Step 12: All surfaces are washed and wiped with a tak rag as well as sprayed with a anti-static gun.

Step 13: Epoxy chromate primer is applied to all paintable surfaces.

Step 14: Polyurethane basecoat is applied.

Step 15: Layout of paint scheme.

Step 16: Spray design colors.

Step 17: Paint landing gears and wheel wells.

Step 18: Primary flight controls are balaced using factory specified equipment.(specifications are in accordance with the aircraft maintenance manual)

Step 19: Inspect, lubricate and reinstall control surfaces onto aircraft.

Step 20: Install new hardware to inspection panels, plates and cowling.

Step 21: Fill out required log book entries and comply with our post paint check list.

What's included in with our base price package?
  • 1 Base color (white, unless otherwise agreed upon)
  • 2 Stripe design covering Fuselage, Vertical Stabilizer, Wing Tips and Registration Number (Schemes reviewed and approved by T&P Aero Refinishers)
  • Registration Number can be modified to include outline or shadow (up to 2 colors)
  • 5 Hours of Corrosion removal & treatment
  • 5 Hours of dent removal and body filler work
  • 5 Hours of fiberglass work

All hours are interchangeable. For example, If your aircraft doesn’t require fiberglass work, those 5 hours can be applied towards the areas requiring the most attention.

 *Work exceeding the 15 hours included in the base price will have an additional charge of $130.00 per hour
